Mosquitos. Ay mosquitos... those little creatures, flying around the house, hiding until you are asleep to come after you. They might be tiny, but that buzzing noise in the dark definitely gives me the creeps.
For the past few weeks, I had to deal with mosquito bites more often than not. They are not a big deal, but they can be incredibly uncomfortable when they start getting itchy. When they bite me in the middle of the night, I begin to feel the need of scratching my skin, and this only makes it worse, so it becomes itchier and itchier with each scratch. Really annoying at 4 AM, let me tell you that.
Out of desperation, I created my own natural mosquito bite remedy, and it has been working wonderfully so far. Before I tell you what you need, you should know that this remedy is meant to alleviate the itchiness, so you don't keep scratching that bite, which is what will make it worse and might even create a wound.
These are the things that you need to create the remedy:
- glass dropper bottle with glass pipette
- hempseed oil
- lavender essential oil
The capacity of my glass dropper bottle is 10 ml, so I add hemp seed oil and then 15 drops of lavender essential oil.
Lavender essential oil is one of those oils that can be applied to the skin undiluted because it doesn't cause skin irritation. Keep in mind that if you decide to create a different combo, you have to look for the dilution ratio of the essential oil of your choice.
The only thing left to do before applying is giving that bottle a little shake! I use two to three drops on each itchy bite and rub it until the skin has absorbed most of the oil.
I hope this works for you as wonderfully as it's working for me. Let me know your thoughts.
Please, share this post with your friends and family. I'm sure they would appreciate learning how to make such a simple mosquito bite remedy.
